About the Camden Coalition

The Camden Coalition is a 100-person nonprofit with a national presence that has been featured in the New YorkerFrontlinePBS NewsHour, and Freakonomics. The organization was founded in 2002 by Dr. Jeffrey Brenner, who has been recognized as a MacArthur Genius Fellow for his groundbreaking work on identifying high-cost, high-need patients who were receiving poor outcomes despite frequent hospital visits.

The Camden Coalition works to deliver better healthcare to vulnerable citizens in Camden, NJ by providing direct service to frequently-hospitalized individuals through a multi-disciplinary team that connects people to the medical and social services they need through a short-term intervention. In 2016, our National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs was launched and has already established itself as a thought leader in the emerging field of complex care.
