Victor Murray

Intervention Specialist

Victor Murray is the Intervention Specialist for the Camden GPS Program, a hospital-based violence intervention program.  Utilizing a care management approach, Victor works individually with Camden youth and young adults who are treated for injuries as a result of intentional assault, including gunshot wounds, stabbings, and physical beatings.  He spends most of his days in the field, meeting with project participants, providing support, guidance, as well as assistance in developing individualized plans to reduce the risk of repeat victimization and retaliation.  Using relationships he has developed with local service organizations, Victor connects participants with whatever medical and/or social follow-up care they need, including post-trauma counseling, primary/specialty care, criminal justice assistance, education, and employment opportunities.  A native of Camden, he is a graduate of Camden County College and currently attends Rowan University, pursuing a degree in Sociology.
